I Bike Fresno To Offer Bike Valet

Press Release For Immediate Release – March 17, 2011

(Fresno, Calif.)--Valet bike parking will be offered at several local events April through September by I Bike Fresno, an initiative of the Bike Happy Foundation 501(c)3 and the Fresno County Bicycle Coalition.

BIG Hat Days in Old Town Clovis, April 2 and 3, will be the first event to kick off the valet bike service. The valet bike booth will be located on 4th Street, West of Pollasky, next to the American Legion Building.

“We appreciate the work of I Bike Fresno and look forward to a great event,” Mark Blackney, President and CEO of Clovis Chamber of Commerce said.

Anyone who rides their bike to BIG Hat Days can leave their bike at the bike valet booth and have it parked free of charge. The valet service will retrieve the bike when the bike owner returns.

“I hope more events take the initiative to provide bike valet parking for their attendees,” Bryan Jones, Fresno City Traffic Engineer Division Manager and President of the Bike Happy Foundation said. “Biking is great for the environment, your wallet and your waist line!”

“This is a great idea,” Fresno County Bicycle Coalition Chair Ed Smith said. “Instead of hassling with traffic and hunting for a place to park, I can ride up, check my bike and get straight to the fun.”

Other events offering bike valet include:
  • Unitarian Universalist Earth Day event, April 30
  • Clovis Farmers Market every Friday night, May 6-September 30
  • Clovis Fest, September 17-18.
